One of Limerick’s finest musical exports, Emma Langford, is set to play Dolan’s Warehouse for the first time since the outbreak of Covid-19 almost two years ago.
On Saturday, November 27, many local Langford fans will hear tracks from the songstress’ latest album, ‘Sowing Acorns’, live for the very first time.
Recently longlisted for a Grammy Award, the nu-folk album features hits ‘Birdsong’ and ‘The Winding Way Down to Kells Bay’.
“We are delighted to be welcoming Emma back to Dolan’s, as she is set to play the Warehouse on November 27,” the venue commented.
“Emma creates work that fuses trad, folk, and jazz; her writing and performance are a celebration of this nation’s tradition of storytelling.”
The Caherdavin native took part in Dolan’s ‘Limrock Live’ series of outdoor shows this summer, alongside stellar Limerick acts Toucan and Anna’s Anchor.
After the release of her debut album ‘Quiet Giant’ in 2017, Langford quickly garnered recognition across the Irish music scene, winning the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Award for Best Emerging Artist in 2018. The following year, she embarked on an international tour, and was the first recipient of the Delores O’Riordan Bursary Award.
Following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, Dolan’s are due to host a wave of Limerick talent this side of Christmas, with acts such as Fox Jaw, Hermitage Green, Raging Sons and Strange Boy Nature taking to the Warehouse and Kasbah stages.
