Limerick cyclists have been invited to take part in an Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association charity cycle this April 22

Cyclists across Limerick are invited to join a charity cycle in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association on Saturday 22 April 2023

Organised by local firm O’Neill Industrial, the cycle will cover an 80k scenic route starting in Ardnacrusha out to Mountshannon (via Broadford) and back again via Killaloe – all under the supervision of bikemarshalls.

Sandwiches and refreshments will be served along the route and a welcome BBQ will be served on the return at McMahons Bar.

Michael O’Neill, O’Neill Industrial said, “We would be delighted if as many cyclists could join us for our annual charity cycle as we raise much-needed funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. Whether you’re an infrequent cyclist or a cycling enthusiast, this will be a safe, fun and enjoyable cycle and you will be helping 400 families across Ireland living with this terminal condition.”

The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association is the only organisation of its kind in the country. The association is dedicated to working on behalf of people living with MND and their families and carers. Its key services include home visits by our 5 MND nurses, financial assistance towards home help and the supply of specialised equipment on loan, and also fund and promote research into the causes and treatments of MND.

Places are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The €45 entry fee includes Sandwiches & Snacks at the halfway point, BBQ at the finish, and a marshalled 80km cycle route. All monies raised will be donated to Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Bikemarshals.ie is a group of motorcycle volunteers. Originally based in the Limerick-Clare-Galway area but now covering a network nationwide. We marshal and support events that take place on public roads – maintaining and improving safety for event participants, fellow marshals, and the general public.
