Limerick City Tidy Towns have presented their Limerick Tidy Towns July 2022 award monthly award to Wickham Way, located at the junction of Thomas Street and Wickham Street.

Maura says, “While many of our monthly winners are chosen on the aesthetic appearance of their properties, sustainability and community involvement is also a huge part of the Tidy Towns ethos.  We are therefore delighted to present Limerick Tidy Towns July 2022 award to Wickham Way, which not only looks great with its vibrant exterior paintwork and signage, it is also a hub for the sale of vintage clothing, handmade art and crafts, locally produced goods and produce, and a host of many community gatherings.”

Wickham Way first opened in September 2021 as an indoor community space offering everything from savoury food, baked goods, vegan options, coffee, art, crafts, classes and more. It has been host to numerous cultural events throughout the year and has more in the works. They are very active on social media so follow them to stay up to date with what’s going on.

The weekly indoor urban market takes place every Saturday from 10am-3pm where you can meet the local traders who come to showcase their craft and learn about and support their small businesses.

The Food Court is open from Thursday to Sunday weekly. With their food trailers offering fresh local produce and dishes from around the world, you’re gonna want to check it out! There is plenty of seating and music too providing a great community buzz.

Wickham Way is fast becoming the go-to place in the city on a Saturday and Sunday morning to browse the market, enjoy the food and soak up the good vibes!  You can contact the team by phone on  083-0933752 or on social media @wickhamwaylimerick to inquire about joining the market, using the space for classes or events or just to share your love for the place.

Wickham Way is Limerick City Tidy Towns’ sixth monthly award for 2022, and as a result will be in with the chance of winning this year’s overall prize at their annual event to be held early in 2023. The winners from January and February 2020 will also be included in the overall event, as well as Treaty City Brewery, Khan Supermarket, Seoidin Jewellery, Souths Pub and The Bedford Townhouse & Café who won monthly awards so far in 2022

If you wish to nominate a business in the city for a monthly award or indeed to volunteer with Limerick City Tidy Towns, they meet every Sunday morning at 11 am at the corner of Thomas Street and O’Connell Street, and on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm outside the White House during summer months. For further details, you can like them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, check their website or email [email protected].
