Paddy Dennehy and the Red Herring are playing Dolans on Saturday November 21, 2015.
Paddy Dennehy and The Red Herring are a group who draw influences from as far back as the early 1900s right up to the present day.You can hear hints of Tom Waits’ theatrical warble; feel the passionate intensity of Louis Armstrong’s delivery; and be stirred by a poignancy reminiscent of that of Hozier and Mick Flannery.A variety of influences then; all of of them blended together to form a live performance that is at once unforgettable and utterly unique. Two stunning live sets at Electric Picnic this summer have cemented the band’s place as one of the most promising acts in Ireland today.
A native of Bruree in Cork but a graduate of Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. Paddy has a unique sound and once you start listening to him you will want more. Great lyrics, great sound and a great guy.
Paddy Dennehy played at the Electric Picnic festival this year and really took the crowds by surprise with his set. Paddy is said to have an uplifting tone that would remind you of something from another era entirely.
